Why should I outsource some of my engineering projects?

What design software does Applied Engineering use?

AE’s staff of engineers and designers are skilled in many engineering software packages. These include Pro/Engineer, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim and others. We own all of these software packages, and are able to match the software revision and configuration of our customers. We are highly certified and trained in the use of these software packages.

How will AE be able to work on my project if you don't have an office in my area?

Depending on the type of project, we are able to provide services in a variety of ways. We may begin by having one of our engineers work at your site to gather information. Using the latest technology tools, we may then be able to work on the project with our team of engineers at one of our offices. If needed, our team will travel to your site for extended periods of time to make sure the project is completed and implemented to your satisfaction.

Is it really important to migrate my old files to my new cad software? Can't I just do it as needed?

Migrating your old data to your new cad software all at once can be a great time and money saver. A properly created database of parts will be a foundation which future designs and modifications can be built. Using an outside resource for data migration will improve the efficiency of your department and allow your engineers to work on projects that utilize their skills and knowledge.

Absolutely not! No matter what CAD package you are using you can implement anyone of the PDM solutions we carry except for PDMWorks.

I thought this company was Applied CAD/CAM, Inc, what gives?

At one time we were Applied CAD/CAM, Inc. in MN but decided because we offered more than what our name stated we should change it to something that reflected that so we are Applied Engineering Technology, Inc. in MN and have stayed Applied Engineering, Inc. elsewhere.
